Our media monitoring methodology combines cutting-edge automation with human expertise to deliver comprehensive, accurate, and actionable insights. We leverage AI-powered tools and manual validation to ensure relevance and reliability, enabling clients to make informed decisions based on high-quality data.
1. Client Requirement Assessment:
We begin by thoroughly understanding the client’s requirements. We then confirm whether we can deliver the requested analysis report and provide a realistic timeline. In most cases, we already monitor topics of interest to the client, enabling us to expedite the process.
2. Automated Data Collection:
Locus Elite (LE) utilizes automated data collection to track a large number of media outlets and all relevant social platforms. This automation allows us to gather thousands of posts efficiently across a wide variety of topics.
3. Topic Registration and Backfilling:
If a required topic is not already being monitored in the LE app, we register it via relevant keywords and initiate backfilling of data. Our capabilities enable us to backfill up to 20 years of data, depending on the topic and the availability of historical data across news and social media platforms.
4. Comprehensive Keyword and Handle Setup:
Before preparing any report, we ensure that all relevant keywords, social media handles, and language variations are identified and registered. This process maximizes the comprehensiveness and relevance of the downloaded posts.
5. Manual Data Enrichment:
We augment automated data collection with manual efforts to address gaps, such as posts missed due to closed networks, image-based content, or video content. The LE app already monitors popular platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Google Reviews to ensure a broad capture of social media opinions.
6. Data Cleaning and Refinement:
Using built-in LE tools, we clean up the collected posts to eliminate irrelevant content. Depending on the assignment, this process may involve:
- Removing social media posts from media organizations to focus on individual opinions, or vice versa.
- Leveraging AI tools within the LE app to filter out irrelevant data while retaining genuine, relevant posts.
7. Manual Validation and Query Optimization:
Despite our rigorous processes, some irrelevant posts may persist. We eliminate these through manual random sampling and refine Boolean queries accordingly to further improve data quality.
8. AI and Manual Tagging:
We utilize AI tools in the LE app to tag topics, themes, sentiment, etc. However, we conduct random samples for manual quality assurance (QA). If automated tagging proves insufficient for specific assignments, we opt for manual tagging within the app or Excel. Our AI capabilities, particularly for Arabic, Middle Eastern, and UAE-focused topics, are highly reliable, but we are prepared to perform full manual tagging if needed.
9. Translation and Summarization Tools:
The LE app provides accurate translations of foreign language content, enabling seamless reporting regardless of the source language. It also generates summaries of comments, posts, and articles, as well as visualizations such as charts and tables. Data exports to Excel are available for further processing.
10. Report Formatting and Finalization:
Our analysts download and transform Excel files, if necessary, before formatting them into PowerPoint (PPT) reports to share with clients.
11. Independent Quality Assurance:
An independent QA expert, separate from the analyst who prepared the report, reviews the report for quality. Following this review, the client relationship manager (RM) conducts a final review. Upon the RM’s approval, the report is sent to the client.
